Sweet & Juicy Mangoes in Hyderabad
The sweet and juicy line groups varieties with higher sugar content and softer pulp, suited to aamras, mango lassi, milkshakes and desserts. Our current stock: Kesar (the GI-tagged Gir variety from Junagadh, Gujarat), Kothapalli Kobbari (an Andhra variety whose Telugu name references its coconut-like pulp texture), Panduvari Mamidi (regional Andhra), Amrapali (the dwarf IARI hybrid of Dasheri and Neelum, released 1971), and Panchadara Kalasam, whose Telugu name translates to "pot of sugar".
Most of these peak between May and July. Kesar and Amrapali keep longer than the rest once ripe, which makes them the better pick if you are ordering for the week ahead rather than to eat immediately.
